My love of reading began at an early age with The Baby-Sitter’s Club series. Dawn was totally my favorite! I transitioned to Twilight #teamEdward and then moved on to the Sookie Stackhouse series #TeamEric. Eventually, I started reading romance and felt like I had found the perfect world in which to escape. 
   In 2018, I had to leave the workforce due to debilitating anxiety. I knew I wanted to start my own business so I could work from home but didn’t know where to begin. It took me a while to find my stride, but in 2020 my sister got me into doing alpha/beta reading and ARCs and that was a pivotal moment for me. I received an ARC from Quell T. Fox, and she was so happy with my suggestions that she reached out to me and asked if I’d ever considered proofreading. Quite honestly, I hadn’t, but I was thrilled at the prospect of getting to make money doing something I loved. I started proofreading professionally in early 2021 while working to further my education so I could branch out into editing. 
   I am beyond blessed to have a husband who has always been supportive and understanding of my mental health. He really helped me establish myself in my new career and is always my biggest cheerleader. My son, being a teenager, won’t admit it, but he thinks my job as a book editor is awesome and has also helped my confidence grow. 
   Proofreading and editing have helped me realize my strengths and abilities as a woman and, despite my moments of imposter syndrome, the work I am doing has brought me more joy than I thought possible.
